Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren ltd

Establised in 1995 it belongs to US$1 billion Welspun group. It has grown leaps and bounds over the past 10 years from Rs 18.7 crs to Rs 2678.5 crs.
It's expertise in the manufacturing of pipe sector is the parameter to prove its capabilities There are only a handful of players who can compete with the range of pipes (starting with diameter as small as 1 inch and as large as 100 inch), maintain the quality and technology that WGSRL produce.

It has accreditions from every major OIl and gas company across the world like BP, Reliance, Shell, Total,Gail, Gazprom.
With the govt now allowing city pipe networking and already companies showing tremendous interest in this project there seems to be a robust demand for the company products over the years to come from india itself

It has now commenced production in its 1.5 million tonne state-of-the-art Plate mill - one of the only three mills of its kind in the World as of March 28, 2008. Part of the backward integration project of Welspun, the mill has the capacity to produce plates up to 4.5 meters wide and is a set to make a mark in the Company's operational capabilities.

The company reported a tournover of Rs 1036 cr and a profit of Rs 97.4 cr for the quarter ending dec 07. The stock is trading at around Rs 370 and comanding a P/e of 22. With new capacity now in full operation the stock is likely to do well and give good returns in the near term.
